The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, visited the State Duma of the Russian Federation as part of his official trip and met with the Chairman of the Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.
Volodin welcomed the official visit of the Armenian Prime Minister to Russia and emphasized the continuous development of Armenian-Russian allied relations.
“I know that you had effective negotiations with the President of Russia, and as a result, a joint important statement has been adopted,” said Volodin, highlighting that the Prime Minister's official visit is a significant event in further expanding bilateral relations. The Chairman of the Duma also stressed the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, adding that there is close dialogue in this direction.
According to Mr. Volodin, the mutual trust existing between the two countries provides a good opportunity for further developing relations.
Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that such interactions give new impetus to interstate relations and cooperation. The head of the Armenian government also emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and active dialogue.
“We had an effective discussion with President Putin, and we adopted a joint important statement,” said Nikol Pashinyan, adding that a final agreement has been reached on several important issues, including those related to security, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, unblocking regional infrastructures, and the processes of delimitation and demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the activities of the Armenian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Commission, holding a CSTO Inter-Parliamentary Assembly session in Yerevan, the activities of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, and other issues.
