Are Former Presidents Ready to Step Back? 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' reports that in recent days, a statement has been in the works at Serzh Sargsyan's office, which is likely to declare that the third president of Armenia supports the struggle for the salvation of Artsakh and Armenia and is willing to step back from the political arena, conceding power to the younger generation.

Sources inform us that Sargsyan is negotiating with the first and second presidents to present a joint statement. However, if this does not succeed, it is possible that the statement will take the form of a call directed at them.

It is worth noting that prior to the 2021 elections, such a proposal was also made by Ter-Petrosyan, and now Robert Kocharyan seems open to it as well. Recently, several discussions on this issue have taken place, with the second president also expressing that he is not opposed to handing the baton to the youth.

However, after Vanetsyan's sit-in at Liberty Square, some from the Kocharyan and pro-Kocharyan circles continue to assert that their leader, Robert Kocharyan, is the only one who can extricate the country from this situation.
