Russia and Armenia Sign Agreement on Information Security Cooperation

The governments of Russia and Armenia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of information security. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

According to the document, the main directions of cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the field of information security will include opposition and coordination against threats in this area, the identification, prevention, and suppression of data exchanges, as well as investigating crimes related to the use of information and telecommunications technologies for terrorist and other criminal purposes, the statement said.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia by the secretaries of the security councils of both countries, Nikolai Patrushev and Armen Grigoryan, the ministry noted.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently on a two-day official visit to Russia. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Security Council Secretary Grigoryan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Education, Science, Sports and Culture Vahrham Dumanyan, and other officials.
