Fatal Accident in Aragatsotn Province: 64-Year-Old Driver Hits 73-Year-Old Pedestrian with Lexus

On April 17, a fatal accident occurred in Aragatsotn Province. Around 15:50, 64-year-old Vasil Gevorgyan, a resident of Yerevan, hit 73-year-old Laura Avetisyan, a resident of the Oshakan community, with his Lexus vehicle on Hovhannisyan Street.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and assisted in transferring the injured pedestrian to the Ashtarak Medical Center. Officers from the 2nd police battalion of the Road Patrol Service arrived on-site quickly under the command of Battalion Commander Hrant Galstyan.

The senior investigator of the same unit, Vahagn Eloyan, led the investigative work at the scene, and preparations are being made regarding the case. According to G. Shamshyan, hours later, the Ashtarak Medical Center informed the Ashtarak police department that the victim had died in the hospital.
