Zakharova Responds to Medvedchuk's Wife's Appeal
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has commented on the appeal made by Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, regarding the possibility of exchanging captured British nationals for those held by Russian armed forces and Donetsk.
Earlier on Saturday, Marchenko addressed the families of Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner through a video, stating that they could request UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to influence the Ukrainian leadership for their release instead of her husband.
“Boris Johnson, who recently traveled to Kyiv, is probably aware of the fate of his sovereign's subjects. He will not delay in responding. And Liz Truss will tell you what the British were essentially doing there,” wrote Zakharova on her Telegram channel.
