VIDEO: Spring has Arrived, Bears are Active - Uninvited Guests in the Amasia Community

For the past two months, residents of various villages in the Amasia community of Shirak Province have been receiving unexpected guests - bears have been visiting beekeepers, tasting honey one by one, disturbing hives, breaking honeycombs, and causing significant damage to local economies. The locals are unable to take any action against the Caucasian brown bear, which is listed in the Red Book.

Residents have reached out to various organizations and ministries, requesting that the bear be relocated safely to another area. They have been told that the matter is under discussion. The community members are now not only concerned about their livelihoods but also about their children’s safety. Some inhabitants of Amasia note that this is the first time they have seen a bear in the area. They suspect that the bear is also bringing its cubs with it.
