Russia Imposes Retaliatory Sanctions Against the United Kingdom

In response to sanctions imposed by London, Russia has added key members of the British government and several politicians to its 'stop list', as reported by the diplomatic agency's website and conveyed by RIA Novosti.

Due to the unprecedented hostile actions of the British government, which have manifested, among other things, in the imposition of sanctions against senior Russian officials, a decision has been made to include key members of the British government and several politicians on Russia’s 'stop list', the statement said.

Among those accused are Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Defence Minister Ben Wallace, and other cabinet members. The list will be expanded.

According to the Russian agency, it will include politicians and parliamentarians who contribute to inciting anti-Russian hysteria, urging the West to use the language of threats during dialogue with Moscow and are engaged in unscrupulous provocations against Kyiv.

According to UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, more than a thousand Russians are currently under sanctions. The restrictions include asset freezes and a ban on entry to the territory of the Kingdom.

The sanctions have been imposed 'to stop Russia's actions aimed at destabilizing Ukraine, threatening its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.'
