Claims are Unfounded: Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport on Financial Support for Athletes

Claims that Armenian athletes do not receive salaries and financial support from the state are unfounded. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Vahram Dumanyan during a press briefing today.

“These claims do not reflect reality,” said the minister. In response to athletes' assertions, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport had issued a statement yesterday detailing the financial resources allocated to wrestlers in the first quarters of 2021 and 2022.

According to the ministry’s publication, in the first quarter of 2022, athlete Arsen Harutyunyan had already received more than 1 million drams, Slavik Galstyan 720 thousand drams, and Vazgen Tevanyan 540 thousand drams.
