Western Internet Platforms Restrict State Agency Accounts on Social Media, Lavrov Says
Western internet platforms are "systematically" blocking Russian information sources, including limiting state agencies' accounts on social media. This statement was made by Sergey Lavrov, the head of Russia's Foreign Ministry.
"We see how global, primarily Western, especially American, internet platforms are systematically blocking Russian informational resources worldwide. They do it ostentatiously, without shame. Recently, access to the press conference of the ministry's official representative was restricted on YouTube, and similar measures were then applied to the State Duma's account," Lavrov stated during a conference at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
He emphasized that Twitter is also implementing unjustified restrictions on the ministry's publications, according to RIA Novosti.
