Pashinyan's Statements Are Extremely Dangerous for Both Armenia and Artsakh, Tatoyan
The statements made by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia yesterday are extremely dangerous for both Armenia and Artsakh. This was stated by Arman Tatoyan, the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, on his Facebook page.
Tatoyan believes that Armenia's security system is being severely undermined by such statements, which are driven by narrow political interests and lack professional grounding. He noted that high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia have justified and legitimized the illegal armed deployments of Azerbaijan near our villages and roads to cover up their own mistakes and avoid creating discontent. Official statements have been made, ceding Armenia’s territorial jurisdiction to Azerbaijan for their own political gains, disregarding the safety, life, and other rights of the population of Armenia and Artsakh.
According to Tatoyan, these officials have consistently undermined our fundamental historical theses, starting from the assertion that Azerbaijan's territorial integrity has no connection to Artsakh and has never had one. He also pointed out that in the Azerbaijani state doctrine, a significant part of Armenia is considered "historical Azerbaijani territory," and that a policy of hatred and enmity approaching fascism is being conducted against us.
All of this, according to Arman Tatoyan, has freed Azerbaijan's hands in the international arena and given it the opportunity to exploit advantageous positions at the expense of falsifications. He lamented that a so-called "peace" agenda has been promoted and advertised to the world, resulting in that "peace" being at our expense, and it being implied that it should be achieved at the cost of our rights and dignity, as there are officials in Armenia who prioritize their political interests and the preservation of their positions over the security of the country.
Thus, any such statement made by the Prime Minister of Armenia or any other official or state body lacks legitimacy and cannot serve as a basis for the protection of our people's interests,” concluded the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
It is noteworthy that on April 13, Nikol Pashinyan stated during a report on the implementation and results of the government's program (2021-2026) in the National Assembly that the international community has directly told Armenia to lower its expectations regarding the status of Artsakh a bit, which will ensure a strong international consolidation around Armenia and Artsakh.
