Major Car Accident in Yerevan: Collision Involving Multiple Vehicles

On April 12, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 11:00 PM, vehicles collided in front of the address 73/2 Charents Street, involving a VAZ 2101 driven by an unknown individual, a Honda driven by 36-year-old Serob Khachatryan from Gegharkunik Province, a Mazda driven by 35-year-old Andranik Chakhkalayan from Yerevan, an Opel driven by 29-year-old Garegin Khanvadyalyan from Yerevan, a Hyundai driven by 28-year-old Spartak Arakelyan from Yerevan, and a moped driven by 22-year-old Armen Haykian from Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the moped was overturned, and the rider sustained injuries, prompting his transfer to the University Hospital No. 1.

The Opel departed from the traffic lane and crashed into an iron electric pole.

The police are working to identify the driver of the VAZ. Information has also been received indicating that the cause of the accident was the driver of the VAZ 2101, who left the vehicle at the scene and fled after the incident.
