Armenia Faction Announces Statement
The Armenia faction has announced that from April 12, groups of parliamentarians will head to the border communities of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.
“On April 12, at the Agavno checkpoint in the Republic of Artsakh, Russian peacekeepers prevented the entry of parliamentarians without any justification, while the entry and exit of any citizen of Armenia cannot be restricted. Notably, the step of the parliamentarians to visit Artsakh was met with a quick and simultaneous response from government representatives and the Azerbaijani side, even demanding a ban,” the statement reads.
This behavior and situation, among other things, contradict the commitment to the uninterrupted connection between Armenia and Artsakh. The current situation is clearly unacceptable. At the same time, it is unclear what specific measures the current authorities have taken to solve the obvious problem and to clearly prevent such incidents in the future, apart from just making statements. It is reported that the restriction on the entry of parliamentarians into Artsakh has not been lifted until this moment. As a logical continuation of their statements, the authorities are required to immediately take action, providing assurances that the uninterrupted entry between Armenia and Artsakh has been restored for all citizens of Armenia,” the message from the Armenia faction states.
