We Had No Other Choice: Putin on Military Operations

The confrontation with anti-Russian forces fueled in Ukraine was inevitable; it was simply a matter of time. This opinion was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a conversation with employees of the domestic space industry at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, as reported by TASS.

“Ukraine began to turn into an anti-Russian stronghold, and there the seeds of nationalism and neo-Nazism, which had long existed, started to grow. Neo-Nazism was specifically cultivated, and Russia's confrontation with these forces was inevitable; the question was only of time,” emphasized Putin.

The Russian president noted that by achieving the goals of the special military operation, the Russian Federation helps the people of Donbas, while on the other hand, “it is taking measures to ensure Russia's own security.”

“It is obvious that we had no other choice; that is how it is, and there is no doubt that the goals of the special operation will be realized. The objectives are quite clear and noble,” emphasized Putin.

“The main goal is to help the people of Donbas; the people of Donbas forced us to do this because the Kyiv authorities, prompted by the West, refused to fulfill the Minsk agreements aimed at peacefully resolving issues,” the president added.
