21 Russian Airlines Banned from Operating in the EU: They are on the Blacklist

The European Commission has included 21 Russian airlines in its blacklist (EU air safety list), as reported by Interfax citing the regulatory body.

The list includes some of the largest airlines in the Russian Federation: Aeroflot, Rossiya, Pobeda, Utair, and S7. These airlines are prohibited from operating flights within the European Union due to their failure to meet international safety standards.

The inclusion of these companies in the blacklist "reflects serious safety concerns related to the forced re-registration of aircraft owned by foreign owners by Russia," the European Commission's statement reads.
