Notice to Applicants: Changes Made to University Admission Procedures

The Armenian government has made changes to the procedures for admission to higher education institutions, as decided in the meeting on April 7.

The new regulations stipulate that applicants can take the unified exam twice in a given academic year, specifically in January and June-July of that year. Applicants who take two unified exams in the same subject will participate in the competition for their chosen field of study—either free or paid—using the higher score obtained from the exams.

The intention behind allowing the right to take the unified exam twice is to provide applicants with another chance, taking into account the anxiety and high-pressure factors that come with the examination.

According to the new regulations, online registration for the maximum of two unified exams will be available from December 15 to December 25 of the current year. The exam dates will range from January 15 to February 15. Similar to previous years, unified exams will also take place in the summer, specifically between June 1 and July 10.

For summer exams, graduates from Armenian general education, vocational, and secondary educational institutions, as well as last year's graduates, must register for subjects online between April 15 and May 10 of that year.

Foreigners, as well as those who graduated from foreign educational institutions that year, and individuals discharged or discharged by July 31 of that year, can register for the subjects online from June 26 to July 1, while the exams will be organized in the first ten days of July.

Applicants who were not accepted into a university based on the results of the main competition may participate in an additional registration phase for specialties, which will take place from July 19 to July 26 of that year.

Applicants can register online for one or more universities with up to six specialties if there are available slots in those fields. Only those applicants who received passing grades in the exams can participate in the competition for vacant positions.
