48 kg of Unknown-Origin Meat Destroyed in Shirak Province, Reports Food Safety Authority

Inspectors from the Shirak Regional Center of the Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB) have conducted stringent checks in several communities of Lori Province as part of ongoing inspections in the meat and meat product sales network. This information was reported by the FSIB.

During a check at a point of sale belonging to individual entrepreneur Gegham Petrosyan in the Shnogh community, FSIB inspectors discovered 40 kg of beef and 8 kg of pork, which had no accompanying documentation. The meat was found to emit a strong odor and displayed clear signs of spoilage. According to the seller, the meat had arrived in the sales network two days prior.

All batches of unidentified-origin meat have been destroyed, and the seller will face administrative responsibility.
