VIDEO: Killed a Man, Left the Body Under Trees, Took the Clothes: Details
On the night of April 5, a woman living in Martuni city reported to the Martuni police that her husband had left the house hours ago and had not returned, and was also not answering phone calls. This information was provided by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
The Martuni police immediately began search operations overnight to locate the missing man. As a result of diligent work, they had information by dawn that there had been a confrontation between the missing man and one of the residents of Geghhovit village in Gegharkunik Province. Preliminary information indicated that they had met on Martuni's Getapnaya street, near the sports field.
In order to clarify the details of what had happened, the Martuni police collaborated with the criminal police and officers from the regional department of Gegharkunik. At 8:40 in the morning, the person who had argued with the missing man was summoned to the police station.
Subsequent actions revealed that during a dispute over financial matters, a 24-year-old resident of Geghhovit had stabbed 55-year-old Kamo Aleksanyan several times with a knife and then stolen 1 million 200 thousand drams. The man’s body was subsequently transported by car to the Martuni road leading to the public beach, where the clothes were removed, and the body was left under trees, while the clothing was hidden in the fields of their village.
Further actions led to the discovery of the body. The suspect confessed. A criminal case has been initiated at the territorial investigative body. The 24-year-old has been arrested. The circumstances are being clarified through further investigation.
