New Proposal for Mandatory Military Service Discussed in Armenia

The National Assembly's Defense and Security Council is discussing a proposal to amend the "Mandatory Military Service Law" which suggests granting exemptions from mandatory military service to family members of servicemen who died in combat.

Main rapporteur Hayk Sargsyan stated during his speech that many young people in Armenia are not fulfilling their mandatory military service due to educational commitments.
