Kazakhstan Arrests Agent Preparing Assassination Attempt on President

The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan has arrested an agent of foreign intelligence in Nur-Sultan, who was allegedly preparing an assassination attempt against the country's president and several high-ranking officials, according to the Kazinform news agency, citing the press service of the National Security Committee.

"They were simultaneously planning terrorist acts against employees of special and law enforcement agencies. During the search, a foreign-manufactured sniper rifle with a silencer, drugs, and a large amount of cash were seized. The weapon was brought into Kazakhstan in parts, cleverly concealed," the press release stated.
