Floods in Kazakhstan
Rescue workers in Kazakhstan have evacuated more than 600 people from two villages in the West Kazakhstan region, where floods have inundated over 170 residential buildings. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan on Sunday.
“On April 3, due to heavy snowfall and rain in the Zhanibek district, melting waters flooded two settlements, with approximately 170 residential buildings submerged in the village of Zhaksybai, 637 people were evacuated,” the statement said.
Additionally, two houses were submerged in the village of Talovka, from which eight people were also evacuated. Rescuers are on duty in these villages. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, floods have also begun in the Pavlodar, Aktobe, and Karaganda regions of Kazakhstan.
