Armenian Prison Guards Conduct 'Unload Your Back' Operation

On March 29, the personnel of the 'Armavir' correctional facility of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia conducted the 'Unload Your Back' operation.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, operational information was received indicating that K.H., who was returned from the Armavir Court of General Jurisdiction to the Armavir prison, had suspicious packages with him and attempted to smuggle them into the correctional facility.

Upon arrival, K.H. was subjected to a personal search within the facility, and it was confirmed that the operational information was valid. Suspicious packages were discovered on his back. The inspection revealed that the packages contained 5.09 grams of a substance resembling 'crystal', 4.34 grams of a substance resembling cocaine, 226.13 grams of a substance resembling marijuana, 37.04 grams of a substance resembling heroin, and 4.62 grams of a brown, plant-like substance.

Materials are being prepared regarding the incident at the 'Armavir' correctional facility. A series of examinations have been appointed.
