Zakharova Calls to Focus Less on the Venue of Russia-Ukraine Negotiations
Moscow considers the fact of conducting Russian-Ukrainian negotiations to be the most important, while the question of the venue for the meeting of the two delegations is not of fundamental significance. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing on Tuesday, as reported by TASS.
“However, I would not focus on the venue of the negotiations; you must admit that this is not the main point,” the diplomat noted.
Zakharova emphasized that what matters to them is the fact that negotiations are being conducted.
She added that Moscow had initially heard numerous demands from Kyiv, including conditions regarding the geography of the negotiations. “We haven't had such issues; therefore, if this is of fundamental importance to someone, it is probably to the Ukrainian negotiators, but this is also their concern,” she stated.
According to the diplomat, representatives of the Turkish leadership should refrain from advising Moscow to abandon Kyiv's demands.
