Stabbing in Fast Food Restaurant: Criminal Case Initiated
The Investigative Committee of Armenia is taking necessary measures to uncover the stabbing incident that occurred in a fast food restaurant.
On March 26, 2022, at 21:28, a call was received from a medical center stating that a 62-year-old man had been brought in with a "stab wound to the neck" diagnosed.
As a result of immediate measures taken, it was determined that the man sustained the life-threatening injury around 20:30 on March 26, 2022, during a dispute at a fast food restaurant on Vardanants Street in Yerevan, when the alleged perpetrator stabbed him in the neck and fled the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under Point 9 of Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The man has been identified as a victim and has been interviewed regarding the circumstances of the incident.
During the preliminary investigation, an inspection of the crime scene was conducted, resulting in the discovery of a knife-like sharp object with blood-like traces, along with other important items. Specimens were taken, and the clothes the man was wearing at the time of the incident were seized. Several individuals have been questioned, and a photo identification procedure has been conducted.
To ascertain the nature, severity, mechanism of the bodily injury, and various other circumstances, forensic medical and forensic biological examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case, the details noted in eyewitness testimonies, identify the alleged perpetrator, locate him, and present him to the relevant authorities. Instructions have been issued to the investigative body.
