How Many Properties Have Turkish and Azerbaijani Citizens Acquired in Armenia? The Head of the Cadastre Committee Details

In Armenia, Turkish citizens have acquired 72 properties, the majority of which are apartments, while Azerbaijani citizens have obtained 5 properties. This was announced by Suren Tovmasyan, the head of the Cadastre Committee, during a briefing with journalists.

He noted that non-Armenian citizens can also purchase non-agricultural real estate in Armenia. “The regulations governing property acquisition in Armenia allow citizens of any country to acquire non-agricultural real estate. Since the point of rights registration, we have seen 72 instances of property acquisition by Turkish citizens. Most of these were apartments, along with a number of small public objects,” he stated.

Regarding the regulations for property acquisition by Azerbaijani citizens in Armenia, Tovmasyan mentioned: “In this case, they hold travel passports. There are five or six Azerbaijani citizens who have travel passports in Armenia. If a travel passport is available, there are no concerns.”

When asked whether there has been an increase in property acquisition activity by citizens of Azerbaijan and Turkey in recent times, Tovmasyan responded negatively.
