Ararat Mirzoyan and the Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Discuss the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh
On March 28, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Igor Khovaev, the Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. The parties discussed the situation resulting from the Azerbaijani incursion that began on March 24 in the area of the village of Parukh, which is under the responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
They addressed the humanitarian crisis being created in Artsakh, actions by the Azerbaijani side targeting the civilian population, and other activities aimed at ethnic cleansing. The necessity for the return of Azerbaijani armed forces to their positions prior to March 23 was emphasized.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the Armenian side's stance on the commencement of negotiations for a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. The importance of fully resuming the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship was reaffirmed.
