When Will the Circus Building Open: Sos Petrosyan

Radar Armenia spoke with Sos Petrosyan, the artistic director of the "Yerevan Circus", Honored Figure of Armenia's Culture, president of the Union of Circus Workers of Armenia, and professor, about the opening of the circus building, circus life, and new performances.

- When will the circus building start operating?

- We believe the circus building will be ready next year, by June or July. Final works are currently being carried out at full speed. It is true that the construction of the circus took a long time, but compared to the buildings constructed in a year, the circus is a complex structure. There is no room for further delays now; the public is eagerly waiting for it. We will have a multifunctional, modern, luxurious circus where we can utilize almost all genres of circus arts. It will be a great gift for our audience.

- Are there circus performances before the building is completed?

- We have always kept working; our circus performers go on tours to different countries around the world. It is true that due to the coronavirus, invitations for performances decreased, but thank God, we have many invitations. We also hold charity performances near the borders, in military units, orphanages, and nursing homes. There is not a month that we don’t go to the regions with charity performances, so the circus has not stopped working.
