Artak Beglaryan Discusses Letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Its Objectives

Artsakh State Minister Artak Beglaryan has issued a statement:

“Yesterday, in a letter addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Security Council of Artsakh, led by President Arayik Harutyunyan, aimed to draw his attention to the aggression exerted by Azerbaijan on the village of Parukh and the Karaglukh heights, as that area is entirely under the responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers.

We expressed our expectation that, thanks to Russian efforts, the consequences of this aggression would be eliminated, and Azerbaijani forces would withdraw to their starting positions. In this regard, the clear statement issued yesterday by the Russian Ministry of Defense is commendable.

In the letter, we also requested an increase in the human and technical presence of the peacekeeping force in Artsakh, which will assist in carrying out a more effective peacekeeping mission along the approximately 500 km contact line. It is also necessary to discuss the possibilities of expanding the functions and mechanisms of the peacekeeping force so that they have all the necessary levers (including military ones) to effectively guarantee the safety of the population of Artsakh.”
