VIDEO. Indian Students Denied Diplomas Amid Scandal at St. Teresa Medical University

“These students have been waiting for their documents in front of the university from 5 AM until late at night for 20 days. The university has lost its license, and just two months before graduation, they find themselves in an uncertain situation. They are forced to transfer to other universities, even if it means enrolling in lower years and paying additional fees, just to finally receive their diplomas. However, their university is withholding their documents, and today was the last day to apply to another university. They have contacted the police, who advised them to wait until Monday. The situation unfolding in front of the university is beyond description; it is simply far from civilization,” journalist Angela Poghosyan wrote on Facebook, also sharing a video of the situation. She calls for the attention of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia and the Armenian police.

It is noted that around 120 Indian students are facing issues following a corruption scandal surrounding St. Teresa Medical University and the revocation of its license. Students are being offered to continue their education at other universities, but they cannot obtain the necessary documents from the university. The licenses for the bachelor's and master's programs were suspended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports on February 18, due to a number of identified violations, including non-compliance with requirements for faculty, educational facilities, methodological support, and internship presentations, as well as admitting more students than allowed.
