Some Officials from the Ministry of Defense to Be Dismissed

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that, according to its sources, it is possible that some officials from the Ministry of Defense’s N military units may be dismissed in connection with the recent cases of soldiers who, according to preliminary reports, committed suicide.

On March 18, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan made a working visit to the Syunik region. During a meeting with officers from one of the military units, the minister emphasized that the incidents were the result of disciplinary issues in certain subdivisions, as well as the unfit moral and psychological state of some servicemen.

The Ministry of Defense reported on this matter, but according to news reaching the media, the minister made serious assessments when discussing the incidents and raised the issue of accountability for responsible individuals. Therefore, it is not ruled out that during the investigation, the question of high-ranking officials' inaction will be raised, which may have led to these events occurring.
