Humanitarian Issue At Hand, Russia Has Yet to Address the Retrieval of Fallen Soldiers' Bodies: Anatoly Kotlyar
According to Acting Director of the Health Department of the Sumy Region, Anatoly Kotlyar, Russia has not yet taken care of the issue of retrieving the bodies of fallen soldiers, UNIAN reports.
“They are of no use to the opposing side, they are not taking them, and they remain with us, posing a great danger, primarily an environmental one. As they decompose, a human body releases corpse toxins,” Kotlyar stated.
He added that it is difficult to identify unregistered bodies. According to him, 10 refrigerators have been ordered to store the bodies of Russian soldiers, but due to blockages on certain rail lines, they have not yet been delivered.
Recall that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine. In a televised address, he stated that the circumstances “demand decisive and immediate actions from us, as the people's republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance.” According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for the bloodshed will rest on the conscience of the regime in power in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian soldiers to disobey the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, lay down their arms, and go home.
