VIDEO: The Survivors Can't Believe They Managed to Escape - Situation in Luhansk

Our war correspondent has been in the city of Popasna, in the Luhansk People's Republic.

Due to continuous shelling by Ukrainian forces, local residents are forced to live in the basements of dilapidated houses without electricity, food, or water.

Thousands of citizens in Luhansk are living under such conditions.

Risking their lives, military personnel are organizing the evacuation of civilians. The survivors can't believe they have managed to escape and first call their loved ones to say, "We are alive."
