Person Associated with Avakov Attempts to Smuggle $28 Million and €1.3 Million to Hungary
A person linked to former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov attempted to smuggle a significant amount of money through Hungary's customs. The State Bureau of Investigations has opened a criminal case.
According to reports, employees of the State Bureau of Investigations received information about a possible violation of the law by employees of the Subcarpathian customs, related to the illegal movement of substantial sums across the state border. Anastasia Kotvitskaya, the wife of former MP Igor Kotvitsky and a business partner of Arsen Avakov, attempted to carry suitcases filled with $28.8 million and €1.3 million to Hungary without declaring them.
Ukrainian media outlets have reported on this, citing their sources. Igor Kotvitsky himself called this information false on his social media page.
