Mysterious Keys Have Yet to Reach the Judicial Department: System Malfunction

The mysterious keys for the electronic system of distributing cases in the courts have not yet reached the Judicial Department. The press and public relations service of the Supreme Judicial Council reports that the keys for the activation and operation of the electronic signing system have not been returned to the Judicial Department as of 21.03.2022 at 18:00.

“In accordance with the instructions of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia, the Judicial Department is conducting daily work to restore the system. As for the process, both the Judicial Department and the Supreme Judicial Council cannot provide more detailed information at this time. We assure you that within the framework of our powers, we are taking all possible measures to resume the opportunity to conduct court case signings electronically as soon as possible,” the message from the BJC press and public relations service states.

It was recalled that on March 17, the media advisor to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, announced on his Facebook page that the Prosecutor's Office has taken necessary measures to obtain the data required for the investigation as soon as possible and to eliminate the obstacles to the operation of the system.

“In particular, the expert designated for the examination of the criminal case has already studied the objects subjected to examination, and the restoration and operation of the system cannot negatively affect the objectivity and completeness of the examination. Therefore, the seized keys for the activation and operation of the system have been returned, and the head of the Judicial Department has been informed that the signing system can be restored,” Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page.

The Judicial Department has responded to the prosecutor's advisor's post, insisting that the seized keys have not been returned. After the Department issued a denial, Abrahamyan published a document on his Facebook page, reaffirming his claim that the keys had been returned to the department.
