What is the Situation in Artsakh Villages: The Call to Prayer Continues to Sound and Frighten Residents
Near the administrative area of Kharamort village in the Askeran region, the call to prayer was sounded from an Azerbaijani position yesterday. However, there is positive progress in negotiations with the Azerbaijani side regarding the resumption of agricultural activities in border areas. This was stated to 24News by Kharamort village head, Zorik Abrahamyan.
According to him, the Azerbaijani side turned on the call to prayer around 6:00 PM yesterday, which lasted for 3-4 minutes. Most of the women and children in the village continue to stay in nearby villages for security reasons, while negotiations with the Russian side for the cessation of Azerbaijani provocations towards the village are ongoing. “We will definitely return; the rest is already a secret, I cannot add anything more,” said the village leader.
In areas adjacent to the combat positions of Azerbaijani armed forces in Artsakh, farmers are unable to carry out agricultural operations, as the Azerbaijanis frequently resort to provocations, firing at them and using loudspeakers to demand that they leave their residences.
It is noteworthy that residents of the Taghavard village in Artsakh have also contacted Russian peacekeepers in writing, informing them that Azerbaijani soldiers have completely disrupted the normal life of the Taghavard residents with calls to abandon their village accompanied by traditional mugham music.
