Travel on Roads Only If Absolutely Necessary: Urge from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure to Drivers

The entire territory of the Republic is experiencing unprecedented heavy snowfall, accompanied by snowdrifts and low visibility on roadways. The severe weather conditions, continuous snowfall, and blizzards hinder round-the-clock road construction workers from ensuring safe traffic. This was announced by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

"Currently, the following roads are closed for all types of vehicles: the Vorotani Pass (Saravan-Zanger), Goraik-Sisian, Vardenyats Pass, Gundevaz-Jermuk, Ttujur-Navur, Horum-Artik-Alagyaz, and Lanjarar-Lusashogh roads. The Vanadzor-Dilijan and Goris-Sisian road sections, the Toros-Ashotsk-Bavra road, the Spitak twists, and the roads in the Gavar region are impassable for all types of vehicles due to severe blizzards. The roads in the Kapan region are difficult for vehicles with trailers to navigate. The Jujavan-Goskepar road and the twists of Dilijan are closed for vehicles with trailers. The twists of Stepanavan are also closed for vehicles with trailers and difficult for other types of vehicles.

In conditions of intense traffic, congestion and hazardous situations are being created. In some cases, the snow-clearing equipment is unable to reach the site in time and perform clearing operations. Given the created emergency situation, we urge drivers to only use the roads if absolutely necessary.
