Poisoning from Gas Boiler Installed in Home Bathroom

On March 20, at 2:20 PM, a report was received from the Republican Medical Center stating that earlier the same day, at 2:10 PM, residents of Stepanakert, N.H. (born in 1951) and M.P. (born in 1992), were admitted with carbon monoxide poisoning. At 2:20 PM, another resident of the same address, M.H. (born in 1969), was also reported to have been affected.

This information comes from the police department of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs. Upon arrival, officer H. Adamyan found that the individuals had been poisoned due to carbon monoxide emitted from a gas water heater installed in their bathroom around 1:40 PM.

Two of the victims are in satisfactory condition, while N.H. has been transferred to the intensive care unit and is under medical supervision.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges the public to always adhere to safety regulations when using natural gas, especially during the heating season, and to immediately contact the 24-hour emergency service at 1-04 in case of any issues with gas supply systems or gas-using appliances.
