The Road Department informs that as of March 19th, at 13:15, due to severe blizzard and lack of visibility, the M-1 interstate Toros-Ashotsk-Bavra road in the Ashotsk region, the Alagyaz-Mantash section, the Vardenyats Pass, as well as the articles from Gndevaz to Jermuk, Ttujur to Navur, and Vanadzor to Dilijan are closed to all types of vehicles.
The Jajur Pass in the Akhuryan region is impassable for all types of vehicles due to heavy snowfall. The Meghri and Saravan mountain passes, along with the Dilijan and Stepanavan serpentine roads, are difficult to navigate for vehicles with trailers. The road from Jermuk junction to Sisian (Saravan-Zanger and Gorayk-Sisian) has been closed for vehicles with trailers due to heavy snow and blizzard conditions, in collaboration with the traffic police for safety reasons.
Snow is falling across the entire territory of the Republic of Armenia. Road construction workers are conducting clearance and sand-salt treatments on the roads. Other interstate and republican roads remain open. To avoid accidents and traffic congestion, drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.
