Video: Criminal Prosecution Initiated Against 3 Patrol Service Employees and 2 Citizens

The Anti-Corruption Committee has conducted an investigation in conjunction with the internal security department of the police, revealing factual data regarding a criminal case. Patrol officer A.A. from the 4th platoon learned that a report regarding an administrative violation was filed by patrol officer V.M. against his acquaintance for driving a vehicle without an OSAGO contract, which included a fine of 100,000 drams. A.A. allegedly encouraged V.M. to commit an official forgery.

Specifically, V.M. stated in the report that the citizen was fined for using a mobile phone while driving, which resulted in a fine of only 10,000 drams instead of the original 100,000 drams. Afterward, the citizen, realizing that the violation was improperly recorded and that he faced significantly less administrative liability, bribed another police officer from the patrol service, A.M., to perform an obvious illegal act on his behalf, resulting in a bribe paid to A.A.

Moreover, according to the data obtained during the pre-investigation, patrol officer A.A. regularly failed to record various traffic violations committed by his acquaintance G.M. In return, G.M. bribed A.A. to receive protection and leniency for future violations in the traffic sector.

Within the framework of their criminal agreement, G.M. continued to drive vehicles in violation of traffic rules; however, the violations were not recorded due to the blatant illegal actions of A.A., who had received bribes. On March 14, patrol officer A.A. was arrested on suspicion of receiving a bribe and other criminal acts. During a search of his residence, ammunition was found.

On the same day, the citizen G.M., who had bribed the patrol officer, was also arrested. He was charged on March 15, with a preventive measure of detention. On March 16, A.A. was charged, and a motion was submitted to the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction for his detention as a preventive measure. Criminal prosecution has been initiated against the other patrol officers who committed official forgery and the additional person who paid a bribe, with a signature prohibiting them from leaving imposed as a preventive measure. The latter have provided confession statements. The investigation continues.
