Mysterious Incident in Shirak Province: Body of 30-Year-Old Man Found in Gyumri City Dump
On March 16, a mysterious incident occurred in Shirak Province. Around 7:30 PM, the police received a call from the Gyumri ambulance station reporting that a team of doctors was dispatched to the Gyumri city dump, where they discovered the body of a young man.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, the head of the Shirak provincial police Aram Ghazaryan and the operational deputy of the Mush police station Mktchryan arrived promptly at the scene.
A Gyumri resident, 60-year-old Ashot M., informed the police that earlier that day, around 4 PM, while searching for colored metals in the indicated dump, he observed a pile of dirt collapse, where a 30-year-old Gyumri resident, Vazgen Y., was digging for colored metals. At that moment, he approached the collapsed mound and noticed that Vazgen Y. was missing.
He also told the police and investigators that he suspected Vazgen Y. might be trapped under the collapsed dirt mound and called for help from his acquaintances, 41-year-old Sanasar M. and 39-year-old Artyom H., residents of Gyumri.
With their assistance, they managed to uncover Vazgen Y. from under the collapsed dirt, after which they alerted the Gyumri ambulance service. The attending medical team confirmed the young man's death.
