Edward was one of the best students in school: Edward wanted to become a doctor

A 19-year-old conscript soldier, Private Edward Rustamyan, who was found dead from a gunshot wound in a military unit located in the southern part of the republic, was drafted into the army in the summer of 2021 and was serving in Meghri. He was originally from the village of Nor Kyanq.

In an interview with NEWS.am, one of Edward's relatives shared that he has two sisters. Edward's older brother drowned in a lake several years ago.

The director of Nor Kyanq Secondary School, Karine Harutyunyan, described Edward as a calm and exemplary boy. "Edward was a wonderful, unique boy. He was one of the best students in our school and graduated with honors. He sang and painted well; he was a very talented boy," Harutyunyan said.

Edward was studying at Yerevan State Medical College as a dental technician. "Edward dreamed of becoming a doctor, but his sister recently told me that he was also considering a career in programming," said Karine Harutyunyan.

Earlier, it was reported that the body of conscript soldier Private Edward Razmiki Rustamyan (born 2003) was found in a military unit located in the southern part of the republic with a gunshot wound. The Ministry of Defense informed NEWS.am that an investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
