The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee on Seeking New Import Markets and Food Supply Issues

We experienced some concerns, and people were making large, unjustified purchases from supermarkets, resulting in problems. A similar situation exists in Russia as well. These decisions will not ultimately have a negative impact on the products imported into Armenia. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly, addressing issues related to the import of grains and several other products.

He mentioned that most of these products were imported from Russia and also from Ukraine, and now it is impossible to import from Ukraine. Badasyan emphasized that there will be no food security issues, as imports will continue from Russia, adding that chicken meat was being imported from Ukraine but now they are looking for alternative markets and may import from other countries, such as Russia.

According to Badasyan, during the coronavirus pandemic, they made more pessimistic forecasts, and now they do not want to paint a bleak picture because this year has started well.
