Residents of Artsakh Protest
Residents displaced from Artsakh held a protest in front of the government today, demanding that authorities address the security and humanitarian issues facing Artsakh. Continuing their protests, those displaced from Artsakh also appealed to the authorities of France near the French Embassy in Armenia.
“We request that you formally recognize the de facto Republic of Artsakh within your powers and ensure the full participation of the French co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group in the negotiations regarding Nagorno-Karabakh,” said Artavazd Stepanyan, a representative from the Hadrut community and one of the participants in the protest.
He recalled that on October 26, 2021, the residents of the community had appealed to French President Emmanuel Macron, asking for humanitarian asylum in their country. They received a response to their letter on February 7, 2022, from French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who suggested contacting the French embassy in Armenia.
