13 Iranians Have Died Jumping Over Festive Bonfires

At least 13 people have died in Iran during the traditional fire festival of Chaharshanbe Suri. This was reported by the head of Iran's Emergency Situations Organization, Jafar Miadfar, as reported by rosbalt.ru.

According to Miadfar, 814 people across the country suffered burns during the celebrations. The fire festival is celebrated on the Wednesday night before Nowruz. On this day, Iranians light bonfires and jump over them.

It is noteworthy that the same celebration claimed 9 lives last year.
