The Deputy Director of the NSS on the Likelihood of Renewed War
Information about a pending war is panic-inducing, and there is currently no clear information regarding it. This was stated by the Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Tigran Harutyunyan during a press briefing with journalists.
He noted that such information is unfounded.
When asked how he assesses the likelihood of renewed war against the backdrop of existing tensions in the region, the NSS Deputy Director said: “War is always possible; however, at this moment, we do not have any information that a war should start in the near future.”
Addressing the question of whether there are high-ranking military officials among those facing charges of state treason, Harutyunyan mentioned: “There is a battalion commander and other individuals from those ranks.”
Commenting on the court's decision to release Davit Galstyan on a bail of 50 million, Harutyunyan noted that Galstyan has also compensated the damage inflicted on the state in addition to the bail. He remarked that the rest will be decided by the court.
