Snow, Difficult and Blocked Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads within Armenia.

Blocked roads in the Aragatsotn region include the routes from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress, as well as the road leading to Keri Lake. The Vardenyats Pass and the Berd-Jambarak road are closed to all types of vehicles.

The Dilijan serpentine roads are closed to trucks and difficult to navigate for other vehicles.

The Saravan-Zanger and the roads leading to the city of Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor region are closed for trailers, and difficult to navigate for other vehicles. In the Syunik region, the roads to Tatev (for trucks) and the Spitak serpentine roads in Lori, as well as the roads to Stepanavan and Alaverdi, are difficult to navigate.

A blizzard and fog are reported in the Saravan-Zanger section, with snow falling in the Lori, Vayots Dzor, Tavush, and Syunik regions (except for the city of Sisian), and the Ararat region (except for the city of Ararat), as well as in Hrazdan and Charentsavan in the Kotayk region, in Martuni, Gavar, and Sevan cities in the Gegharkunik region, and in Talin, Aparan, and Aragats regions in Aragatsotn.

In the Shirak region, blizzards are reported in the regions of Ashotzk, Ani, and Amasya.

According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the North Ossetia Crisis Management Center of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles due to the risk of snow slides. There are approximately 380 trucks and 97 passenger cars stuck on the Russian side.
