During the negotiations, Azerbaijan's demands are unclear: What is the status of gas supply restoration in Artsakh?
Negotiations with the Azerbaijani side have been ongoing since the day of the gas pipeline accident, which occurred on March 8, to begin the restoration works in Artsakh. Today, further negotiations took place, as reported to NEWS.am by the office of the Security Council of Artsakh.
In response to a question about the composition of the negotiations, the Security Council's office stated, “The negotiations are trilateral, involving representatives from Artsakh, Russian peacekeeping forces, and the Azerbaijani side. A representative from the Security Council's office from Artsakh is participating in the negotiations.”
When asked whether the Azerbaijani side is stalling the negotiations or whether they are proceeding as planned, the Security Council's office responded that negotiations with Azerbaijan commenced on March 8 and have continued to this day.
The Security Council of Artsakh also informed that the accident occurred at a certain distance from the city of Shushi, adjacent to the main highway.
The website also inquired about what Azerbaijan is negotiating about, or what grounds or demands they have for prohibiting Armenian specialists from approaching the damaged area, to which the Security Council's office replied, “During the negotiations, Azerbaijan's demands are unclear.”
Furthermore, the Security Council's office noted that “there is currently no clear positive or negative dynamics in the negotiations.”
When asked if there are any prerequisites to believe that the negotiations may yield final results in the coming days, the Security Council's office stated, “As mentioned in response to the previous question, the negotiation process is ongoing. There are prerequisites that the issue may receive a positive solution in the coming days.”
