Ukrainian Cities at Risk of Becoming Graveyards
Pope Francis has harshly criticized the invasion of Ukraine, declaring that armed aggression is unacceptable. According to Reuters, the Pope made this statement during a Sunday prayer addressed to thousands gathered.
He described the killing of children and unarmed civilians as barbaric and referred to the city of Mariupol as a "city of martyrs," calling for the establishment of real humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of people.
“In the name of God, I beg you: stop the massacre,” he stated, adding that Ukraine's cities are at risk of becoming graveyards.
Interestingly, the Pope did not mention the name “Russia” even once in his speech, although western media have concluded that the criticism is directed at Russia.
