Radiation Levels in Ukraine's 4 Nuclear Power Plants Remain Normal: IAEA
The radiation levels in Ukraine's four operational nuclear power plants remain within normal limits. This was reported by Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as conveyed by TASS.
Out of the country's 15 reactors, 8 are still operational, including 2 at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, 3 at the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, 1 at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, and 2 at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant.
The IAEA has reported that Ukraine has notified the agency about the loss of control over the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and its transfer under the control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
In light of the Russian military operation, Grossi has urged to ensure the safety of Ukraine's nuclear facilities to prevent nuclear contamination of the area.
