Video Released of Armed Attack at Gas Station; Men Arrested

On February 5, at 03:35, a citizen calling the police operational management center reported that an armed attack had occurred at a gas station on Khanchyan Street in Gyumri.

The police department stated that operational investigative groups dispatched to the scene determined that around 03:00, two masked individuals, one armed with a submachine gun, attacked the gas station employees. They entered the office, threatened the staff with violence, fired a shot into the floor with the submachine gun, demanded money, and then stole approximately 150,000 drams from the cash register before fleeing.

A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.

As a result of coordinated investigative measures undertaken by the main department of criminal police, the Shirak regional police department, and the divisions of Kumayri, Mush, and Akhuryan, the identities of the individuals who committed the crime were established. On March 7, two men, aged 27 and 31 from Gyumri, were located and taken to the Kumayri police department. They were presented to the Shirak regional investigative department, arrested, and subsequently detained by a court order.

Under another court order, a search was conducted at the 27-year-old man's residence and garage. A Kalashnikov submachine gun with four loaded cartridges and nine 7.62mm cartridges were discovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
