Armenians Demand Recognition of Artsakh's Independence from the Armenian Government: Protest Action
Residents of Shushi and Hadrut, displaced from their homes, are staging a protest in front of the Armenian government building, demanding the acknowledgment of Artsakh's independence, raising awareness of the humanitarian crisis faced by Artsakh residents, and appealing to Russian peacekeepers to prevent the entry of terrorists from Baku into Artsakh.
In response to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's comments regarding provocations and gunfire by Azerbaijanis in Artsakh, one citizen pointed out, "We cannot demand the government to disclose matters that contain confidential elements; we can't imagine what he meant just by those words. We can interpret those words for both our benefit and detriment; the Prime Minister's answer was a diplomatic response. Whether we want it or not, we trust the authorities so that they can try to restore their confidence in us. When someone armed enters your house, you say, 'I am for peace, you cannot kill me,' such a thing does not happen. Who, apart from politicians, believes in this process? Everyone knows that to maintain peace you must arm your country; we are disarming the army and saying we want peace."
